The flange can also be a plate or ring, and when fixed to a pipe, an edge can be formed at the end of the pipe (for example, a closet flange). Blind flanges are plates used to cover or close the ends of pipes. The flange joint is the connection of the pipeline, in which the connecting piece has a flange, through which the parts are bolted together.
